10-Minute Recipe: Tony's Sticky Bar

By Tony Horton
Only three ingredients you probably already have in your house and less than 10 minutes of prep time. Just because you're short on time and/or groceries doesn't mean you have to skimp on nutrition . . . or taste.
Sticky Bar1/2 medium-size banana
1/4 cup chunky peanut butter (organic minus hydrogenated oils, preferably)
1 cup unsweetened granola
1 sheet wax paper

Mix and mash all three ingredients into a bowl. Spoon onto a sheet of wax paper. Roll up into a hot dog/cigar shape. Stick in the freezer. Ready in about 90 minutes. Cut off little bites or eat the whole thing. Eat it frozen or throw it in the microwave for 10 seconds. Serves 2.

Via Cafe Mocha Shakeology
So, Starbucks has this new product called "Via Iced Coffee" and of course, me not being able to leave things alone, thought "Hey, that might make for a really yummy Shakeology, with a kick!" (can you just imagine what it must have been like for my parents? Never could just leave things alone; pretty much always looking for ways to tweak things and make them better, at least in my mind! :).

So, yesterday, when taking special trip to Starbucks for my boys, I decided to pick some up and give it a whirl. This is my review:

First, start with your blending device of choice. Mine? A VitaMix! (Yea baby! Best money I've ever spent!)

I don't do dairy, so myself and Body Power Fitness recommends almond milk. Today's almond milk brought to you by Almond Breeze (40 calories a cup and same amount of calcium and protein than cows milk. Awesome!).

I also add a cup of water and ice. I just put it all in the same glass, for convenience.

Now for our featured product: Via Iced Coffee from Starbucks!

And of course, Chocolate Shakeology. The healthiest meal of the day, hands down!

Add 1 c. almond milk to your blending device of choice.

And either 1/2 packet or if you really like the cafe taste, whole packet of Via Iced Coffee.

All ready to blend!

Give it a good whirl

Pour in glass and enjoy!

Now, here is my official Iowagirl review:
First taste was "Wow, that is really strong!". But, as I drink it while writing this, it is starting to mellow out. So, like I said, if you don't like a really strong coffee taste, then start out with 1/2 packet of Via (which is the actual serving size anyway). Here is the whole recipe:

1 c. almond milk
1 c. water
1 c. ice
1 packet or scoop of Chocolate Shakeology
1/2 or whole packet Starbucks Via Iced Coffee

Put in blender and blend away!

Let me know what you think and just a reminder, start Shakeology on autodirect THIS MONTH and get your name in a drawing for your choice of many Beachbody workout DVD's. (more details HERE).

Give me a shout with any comments or questions!

Rebecca
